'Born of the earth for the earth', André Bloch began working clay at the age of fifteen, without knowing that it would set him on the path of constant experimentation and reinvention throughout his life. A passionate traveller and deeply curious about other cultures, Bloch found his most transformative influence in Asia, where he encountered philosophies that challenged his understanding of form. From these experiences emerged one of his principal artistic questions: how to give substance to form while honouring the power of the void. This exploration has shaped his work ever since. Bloch approaches this challenge with humility, pursuing a vocabulary defined by purity, restraint and function. His ongoing research has also led him to architecture and design projects, all guided by the same principles of aesthetic clarity and essential minimalism.
